JohnAbout Me

Hi! My name is John Els. I am a big fan of the internet and all the good stuff that it offers people.

I have been a web developer and programmer for several years. Back in 1997 I started out as a MS Access database developer. That was also the year that I started learning about web development and built my first website.

Not too long after that, I discovered ASP (Active Server Pages) and learned how it can be used to create dynamic websites that interact with databases. To me, this was really cool! I ended up creating a bunch of dynamic websites over the next few years, both as a consultant and in the employment of other companies.

ASP developed into ASP.NET, and I switched over to ASP.NET. By then, I had also learned about proper database design and moved on to MS SQL Server databases (Access’ big brother).

By 2006 I also became more interested in web marketing. I discovered that the phrase, “build it, and they will come”, doesn’t necessarily apply to websites. You can’t just slap up a website and expect bunches of visitors the moment it goes live on the internet!

So I got more into search engine optimization (SEO) and learned about the right approach to use when building a website to maximize your chances of getting decent traffic. I also learned about other important things that need to be done to publicize the existence of it.

And this is where Make-A-Website-With-Traffic.com comes in. I learned a lot of things from a lot of people over the years. This website is about giving back… about helping others who want to build websites to learn the right way to go about it.

This will probably always be a work in progress because there are always new things to add. It’s the nature of the beast. I hope you find something here that helps you build websites that get traffic.

To your success!

John
